Bentley Continental GT Speed Convertible Breaks Cover |
Photos of the 2013 Bentley Continental GT Speed leaked on Christmas Eve, and now there are solid numbers to go along with them.
Really, there's not much to say that the pics don't already show. The convertible is just like the GT Speed coupe, only it'll seriously molest your hair. Tony Manero need not apply. The rest of you, feel free.
The all-wheel-drive ragtop is powered by a twin-turbo W12 engine mated to an 8-speed automatic transmission. Power and torque are predictably ridiculous: 616 bhp and 590 lb-ft. That max torque is available at just 2,000 rpm is the container-ship full of maraschino cherries on top.
Zero to sixty takes a scant 4.1 seconds, and the GT Speed Convertible will just keep on going until it hits its top end of 202 miles per hour. For all practical purposes, that's as fast as the hardtop, which, on paper, is technically a tenth of a second quicker to 60 and 3 mph better overall.
And as you can see, it'll be available in Bentley's eye-popping magenta paint. Fitting, right? Deep purple for the highway star. Remember, you can just outrun the haters.
The GT Speed convertible makes its world debut in a couple of weeks at the 2013 Detroit Auto Show.
